Biography
He was born on 16 November 1941 in Barcelona.
In 1947 his family moved to the village of Sant Cugat del Vallès.
At the age of thirteen, he started working as a draftsman at Aymat, a tapestries and carpets workshop.
Doing this job, he learned how to draw small watercolour sketches and, afterwards, scaling them into a real carpet size using the charcoal pencil.
When he was 28 he left the carpets company. In 1974 he, his wife Marilén and their children, Lluís and Anna, moved. First to Premià de Mar and, later, to Vilassar de Dalt.
Eyes, lines, shapes, volumes, rhythms and harmonies. Figuration, wrapped by a large amount of lines that all at once form a shape, become the focus.
In 1978 he won an international drawing price, Ynglada Guillot.
Again, they moved to a country house in Sant Bartomeu del Grau.
He planted cabbages and drew them. The eye of a cabbage, tender vegetable glance over pillows and sheets. White clothes in dark rooms, a burst of light while someone opens the window and surprises the dark which softly turns into grey and, finally, white. Pencils, soft lead and hard lead; the sound of the graphite on the paper, sensuality.
In 1984 they moved to Vic.
